Hydropower energy is an alternating energy source that has huge range of usage network and high energy reserve. Potential energy of the water is converted to the kinetic energy by Hydropower energy plant. The turbines are rotated as a result of the water falls from high level. Thus, the electricity is obtained. Hydropower energy has the highest operation life and the lowest operation cost when it compared to other energy sources. Also, it has the highest efficiency.

The hydraulic energy sources are very abundant in the world. 150 countries in the world has hydraulic plant potential but; only 30% of these systems are used in the world. The Global Hydropower Potential can be clearly seen in below table.
