What is the Meaning of Photovoltaics?
Although the solar energy potential of Turkey is very high, investments of solar energy is significantly unsatisfying when it compared to the other European countries such as Germany, Spain and Czech Republic, that has very big investments in solar energy. However, Turkey has solar energy potential that 380 kWh/year electric energy can be produced by the sun. The below graph (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) compared the solarisation time of Turkey and the countries that has big solar energy investment .
Photovoltaic solar cells convert solar energy to DC electric energy when the sun lights fall on the cells by using semi permeable materials such as silicon, Gallium, Arsenide, cadmium, telluride or cooper indium diselenid.
