There is no water on the ground work of our building, do we need to apply water insulation?

Buildings are not only subjected to the pressurized or unpressurized water. Rain, snow, humidity of the soil and the absorbed rain or house hold waters cause the buildings to be subjected to water. After the completion of the construction of the building to prevent flooding and the humidity of soil, while ground work is going on, water insulation has to be done.

Can we provide water insulation by ceramic coating?

Ceramics is a waterproof coating material. However it is not a water insulation material. Water insulation applications are done by water insulation materials continually. Ceramics applications done in bathrooms are implemented by putting tiles side by side. The connection points of tiles are the possible places for water to travel. That’s why water insulation cannot be provided by putting ceramics side by side. For water insulation, firstly the water insulation material is applied to the surface technically in a proper way, then ceramics is coated onto the insulation so operation is completed.

On roof we have tile or shingle, do I need water insulation?

 Roof tile or shingle is roof coating materials. Although they are made of water proof materials, the junction points of tiles are the possible gaps that water can pass through. Beside this, due to a strong wind or due to the operations done in roof there is a risk for tiles to be broken. Since roof coatings cannot be applied, water insulation cannot be provided as well. For this reason water insulation on roofs is provided by applying the water insulation materials under tiles or shingles continually.

Is it helpful to have water insulation on roof just above our flat?
Water insulation has to be applied to entire roof. Water leakage is possible from the places where water insulation hasn’t been done, so water insulation has to be implemented to the entire roof.

Does water insulation make buildings keep in safe during earthquakes?

Another reason for collapse of buildings during earthquakes is water leakage to the supporter structures which has no water insulation. Thus those structures get weaker. That’s why , in water insulated buildings, the proper construction technique, proper structure materials and the water insulation applied to the supporters provides better resistance against earthquakes.

Can I execute sound insulation by myself or by the aid of known old hands?

Your building has to be analyzed by experts and the thermal insulation applications have to be applied by the firms that have background information about thermal insulation
